Attention, JCP shoppers! Penney's is now open at Flowood's Market Street location.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the new shopping center situated at the intersection of Lakeland Drive and Old Fannin Road in Flowood. You can see my original post here. But the good news is J. C. Penney's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond opened their doors on March 1, and business has been brisk.

I was able to visit the store this evening and take advantage of the $10 off coupon JCP mailed me last week. The check-out areas were appropriately manned to accommodate the drove of shoppers. Penney's had a good selection of merchandise. Most of the apparel was geared to the latest fashions for spring, a welcome relief for those of us weary of winter weather.
Penney's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond are the first of numerous stores slated to open at the Market Street Center. Other stores should open by the end of this month.
Use caution for the next few months while shopping the new center, as there is still an array of heavy equipment and detours around remaining construction zones. The best entrance is from the traffic light at Dogwood by Chick-Fil-A._________________________________________________________________________

Hi Pat sounds great for all the shop aholics! I used to be one before I needed to be more conservative:)
Bill, me too! Marathon shopping is no longer appropriate, but occasionally we HAVE to do it!
Please publish the names of all of the stores that are going to be going into Market Street. The website for the development company does not have it. It would be nice to know what other smaller stores will be there also. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Elaine Hayes
Elaine, I'll be glad to. Some of the stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, Michael's, DSW Shoes, Cheddar's, and Bed Bath and Beyond. I will work on putting another post together showing some of the smaller stores. Thanks for asking. ~Pat
